Allegra Care has revealed the purchase of a 66-bed nursing home in Weston-Super-Mare.

The business recently entered the care home market with the purchase of St. George’s Nursing Home.

The home was opened in 2012 providing care for older people as well as specialised dementia care.

Allegra Care is the sister company to the assisted living business Amicala and its management team comes with over 50 years of collective experience developing and operating care homes.

Helen Jones, CEO of Allegra Care, said: “We are delighted to welcome the St George’s team into ours.

“The home is beautiful, and we will be working hard with the excellent team in place to deliver outstanding care and support for our current and future residents and families.”

The move represents the company’s ambitious growth plans as it seeks to buy further small care businesses to grow its family of care homes.

Jones continued: “St George’s is our first home, and we are now actively looking to grow our group with similar high-quality homes and groups.

“We have a strong leadership team in place and are hugely excited to get started.”
