Anchor Hanover scooped the Large Residential Care Provider of the Year Award at the LaingBuisson Awards this week.

The not for profit company was recognised for its excellence in providing residential care for older people and its focus on innovation and engagement with residents within a larger organisation.

Anchor Hanover Chief Executive, Jane Ashcroft CBE, said: “We are thrilled to win the LaingBuisson Residential Care Provider of the Year award. It’s wonderful to be recognised nationally for delivering person centred care and for our dedicated focus on providing places where people love living in later life.”

A member of LaingBuisson’s judging panel said: “I was impressed by the commitment of all staff to developing their role in providing activities and was also pleased to see that Anchor Hanover had a very good score from residents and relatives on the Your Care Rating scheme.

“This has been a huge year for Anchor Hanover – and to successfully grow and increase quality during a period of significant change such as merger, is a real testament to the leadership and staff. The continued focus on innovation and engagement with the wider community are also very impressive.”

Anchor Hanover is England’s largest provider of housing and care to older people, having formed in 2018 from the merger of Anchor Trust and Hanover Housing Association.

The not for profit business serves more than 60,000 customers in 54,000 properties across almost 1,700 locations. Its residential care business, which retains the Anchor brand, employs the majority of the 10,000-strong workforce, providing services to more than 5,000 residents at 109 care homes across England.
