Apetito has pledged its long-term support to the care industry and said it will continue to try and drive change through innovation.

The nutritious food provider company was a recent winner in the Leaders in Care Awards and, following the accolade it collected, it expressed its pride at making a real difference to the lives of elderly and vulnerable people.

“Having built our business on supporting these people, to ensure they get the most out of the food they eat, we offer a wide range of nutritious and sustainable meals to suit every taste and dietary requirement,” said Andy Lowe, divisional manager for care homes.

“We also proudly support the Malnutrition Task Force, an independent group of experts united to address avoidable and preventable malnutrition in older people. As a supplier, we are committed to long-term support of the industry and more importantly resident wellbeing.

“We look to drive change through innovation and work closely with key bodies in the sector to provide solutions to the challenges faced by the industry. We are dedicated to helping customers to be more sustainable, such as reducing their food waste.”

Mr Lowe said that improving the health and well-being of residents is also important to the business.

“We are proud to work in partnership with care homes to enable them to provide a great dining experience to their residents through skills such as plate presentation to creating a dementia-friendly dining environment.

“We also work with organisations across the industry, such as the Care Workers Charity and NACAS, to support those who work tirelessly to provide outstanding care to the country’s elderly population. This award is a testament to the immense amount of time and hard work that has been put in by our team to develop and support the industry.”
