National care provider Barchester Healthcare has launched construction of its Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter, Devon.

Andy Williams, Senior Property Development Manager at Barchester, broke ground at the site to mark the beginning of the build process.

“The Exeter Barchester site was very impressive,” Andy said. “The new care home will be an important facility for the district and a very welcome source of employment.”

Andy continued: “We are very excited about the construction of our new care home and we are lucky that our prospective residents will have a home set in such beautiful grounds.

“There is a real need for quality care in the local area and our new home will definitely meet this, and potentially give a boost to employment in neighbouring communities.”

Senior Contracts Manager of Halsall Clive Fletcher commented: “We are delighted to be starting on site for our Barchester Healthcare project in Exeter. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with this valued client as we work with them to deliver their extensive programme of high quality, purpose built care homes across the UK.”

The 65-bed home will open in November 2020 and will deliver personalised residential care as well as personalised dementia care in Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Community.
