Claire Bibby has been appointed general manager at not for profit operator Belong’s dementia care village in Warrington.

Formerly support manager at Belong Atherton, Claire brings 30 years’ experience in the care sector, including 15 years in management positions.

Claire said: “I’m looking forward to this next challenge in my career with Belong. I feel lucky to work for an organisation that recognises people’s potential and invests in their growth and development. My focus will be on promoting the village as a hub for the local community, developing its nursing provision and recruiting to build on existing skills and expertise.”

Belong chief operating officer Stacey McCann added: “Few people have Claire’s experience in care sector management or her knowledge and understanding of Belong and its values, so she stood out as the ideal candidate for the role.”

Claire’s journey with Belong began in 1989 when she started her career in the care sector as a YTS apprentice at the organisation, which was then the CLS Group. She has since held several senior management roles at the company, including being a care home manager and overseeing the provision of specialist dementia care.

Claire’s appointment follows the retirement of Janine Curwell, who had been general manager of Belong Warrington since it opened in 2014.
