Birmingham home set for refurb after new owners complete “challenging” purchase

The new owners of a Birmingham care home plan to undertake a refurbishment of the property after completing a “challenging” takeover.

Munwar Sandhu and Karen Tian agreed a deal to acquire Green Nursing Home after its existing owners, Flintvale Limited, decided to sell the business to retire.

The Kings Norton home was purpose built in the 1990s and offers nursing care for 59 residents.

The transaction adds a further property to the pair’s care portfolio as they already operate the successful Ivy Bank Nursing Home, also in Birmingham.

However, getting the deal over the line wasn’t easy.

Paul Reilly of Christie & Co, which handled the sale, said: “The home was sold after a lengthy transaction, following numerous challenges with staff and management. The new owners are very experienced and relish the challenge of improving the reputation of the home going forward.”

The new owners said they plan to undertake a refurbishment and general upgrades in the home.
