Ashbourne Court Care Home in Andover, Hampshire has been rated Outstanding by the CQC.

The home, which provides personal and nursing care for up to 64 people, joined the top 3.5% of adult social care services following an inspection in June.

Manager, Rajesh Ayyappan, said: “We are thrilled to have received an outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission inspection. This is the ultimate accolade, which highlights the team’s dedicated work. We always have put our residents’ interests and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do and we are honoured to have our efforts recognised by the commission.”

The CQC report highlighted the people-centred approach that residents received from the highly- skilled and knowledgeable staff who recognised people’s individualities and exceeded expectations.

Residents’ family members praised the service as “excellent” and staff told inspectors they felt extremely valued, which kept them motivated to provide the best care possible.

As well as involving resident and families in the running of the home, the service was praised for its programme of activities that includes a summer festival of friendship, a musical open day and a ‘create’ challenge.

People told inspectors their rooms were kept clean and tidy and this was confirmed by a relative, who said: “The standard of care and cleanliness is beyond reproach. The building itself is very welcoming, clean, tidy and well appointed.”
