Care England chief executive Martin Green has opened Cinnamon Care Collection’s 12th luxury care home.

Martin performed the honours to launch the £8m, Rivermede Court in Egham, Surrey with general manager, Libby Barrett.

Martin said: “I am delighted to be here at the start of a wonderful journey that will be so good for people in Egham. The level of detail and little extra touches throughout the building show the high level of care that is so key to what Cinnamon does. Cinnamon gives people a life, not a service, and that is central to Cinnamon’s ethos. It is a privilege to see this fantastic facility and great to see that engagement with the local community has been so central from the outset.”

All guests were invited on a tour of the premises during which they were shown luxurious en-suite bedrooms, the cinema room, hair and beauty salon, and lounge and dining room areas.

Libby added: “It has been a great privilege to be part of commissioning Rivermede Court. I have personally interviewed every applicant – something that is very important to me – and have recruited team members that are compassionate, caring and have a real drive to make a difference in the lives of those we support. We have had a great start to this new home, including 30 days training for all employees – which is phenomenal in this industry. Investing in our team is key to staff retention and delivering a consistent high quality service.

“I am so proud to work alongside the team here at Rivermede Court and am very excited about beginning our journey in Egham. I would like to thank the local community for welcoming and accepting us into your village.”
