Care sector professionals come together for Access World tech event

More than 1,300 delegates attended a conference organised by software specialist Access at Wembley Stadium.
Gary Shearin, CEO, The Care Workers’ Charity and James Thorburn, CEO, City and County Healthcare, were among residential and domiciliary care leaders giving their views on how technology is helping make a positive difference at the Access World conference.
Access product experts updated delegates on the development roadmap and ambitious plans to help care professionals with its Workspace platform.
Over the last twelve months The Access Group has welcomed 400 new care providers to its platform, and the company’s products now support almost a third (30%) of UK providers rated as Outstanding on home care services.
Access Health and Social Care Managing Director, Steve Sawyer, said all Access care products, including iCareHealth, People Planner and Medication Management, were now available via a single login at Access Workspace.
“We’ve dedicated more than 1,000 days of development over the last year to make sure that 22 Access Workspace for Care apps are now live,” Steve said.
“This represents a major investment for our customers and for the future.”
Access also unveiled plans to develop new reporting and analytics beyond 28 days to boost efficiency and the safety benefits for its users.
“We want to make it easier to get information out of the system in a format that’s required and automate processes to save lots of time,” Steve added.
“Through Workspace we are helping customers to have easy access to information which will make a real difference to care quality.”
Access systems monitor more than 240 million care activities each year and through analysis of anonymised Big Data, the company generates a report looking at the Hidden Dynamics of Care. In 2019 Access shared the findings with government policymakers to provide them with access to real-word data.
