Care UK continues to lead the field in terms of new care home builds with 11 services currently under construction.

Dashwood Manor in Basingstoke, Hampshire will bring Care UK’s number of care homes to over 130 when opened in the spring of 2021.

Peter Griffiths, development project manager for Care UK, said: “I am very proud to be working with our developers to create this wonderful new home for the people of Basingstoke. We have used our experience of developing over 30 new homes in the past five years to ensure that Dashwood Manor will not only be a fantastic place to live but will also be a great working environment designed to help the care team deliver the very best support to the residents in bright, airy surroundings.”

Dashwood Manor will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 70 older people, and will create over 60 jobs.

The two-storey home will include a cinema, café and hair salon. Secure and wheelchair friendly landscaped outdoor space will include sensory gardens, water features and seating to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.

John Austin, Development Director at Hamberley Development, said: “Construction is off to a great start and we are on track to complete the scheme by May 2021. As a developer of best in class care homes we’re thrilled to be working with Care UK on this much needed, high quality development for the people of Basingstoke and the surrounding area. We’re already looking forward to reaching our next milestone in the coming months.”
