Christopher Kemball has been appointed as chair of specialist housing and care provider Anchor Hanover.

Christopher has 25 years’ experience in financial and business services and has served on the boards of, or chaired, several public and private-equity owned companies including in the care sector.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to join Anchor Hanover at such a pivotal time,” Christopher said.

“The excellent work of my predecessor, the Board and colleagues across the organisation means we are well-positioned to deliver more homes for people in later life.”

He takes on the role from Dr Stuart Burgess CBE, who was appointed chair of Hanover Housing Association in September 2014 and became chair of Anchor Hanover following the merger of Anchor and Hanover in November 2018.

Stuart said: “The significant economies of scale resulting from our merger are coming to fruition. I am pleased that Christopher is taking on an organisation with an excellent opportunity to build on more than 50 years of experience in providing services to older people.”

Anchor Hanover Chief Executive, Jane Ashcroft CBE, said: “Stuart has been instrumental in ensuring the values of Anchor Hanover today are consistent with the values that drove success for half a century. I now look forward to working with Christopher so those values continue to ensure we provide homes where people love living for many years to come.”

Christopher has served on the boards of, or chaired, several public and private equity owned companies, including Cambian Group plc, a leading provider of specialist education and behavioural health services, Berendsen plc, a leading European textile rental and washrooms services business, W.S. Atkins plc and Scott Wilson plc, both international engineering consultancies, FrontierMEDEX, a remote medical services provider, and Quayle Munro Limited, a specialist M & A boutique listed on AIM.
