Colten Court has opened the doors to its art deco style Bourne View care home in Poole, Dorset.

Described as the “jewel in our crown” by the Mayor of Poole, the striking design provides 68 en suite bedrooms and two guest suites along with a rooftop garden, dining room, bistro, piano lounge, hair salon, spa and hotel-style foyer.

Colten Care Chief Executive Mark Aitchison said: “We’re thrilled to be opening Bourne View, our 21st home. This is an absolutely beautiful care setting designed and built to reflect everything we have learned from our residents’ experiences and feedback going back more than 30 years.

“The result is an elegant living environment where well trained, professional and well supported colleagues work together as one team to deliver the highest standards of care and help residents lead fulfilling lives.”

Long-standing relationships with trusted local suppliers have enabled Colten Care’s interior designers to prescribe the exact requirements of chairs, tables, drawer units, desks, bedside cabinets and other décor and furniture. The idea is that bespoke furnishings, with designs based on extensive care home experience, help make life easier and more comfortable for residents.

Home Manager Sohail Daniel said: “Bourne View blends the reassurance of 24/7 nursing-led care with the opportunity to find space for relaxation, reflection and companionship – all in gorgeous, homely surroundings.”

Along with colleagues at Colten Care’s sister company, Colten Developments, staff have given the school a bright new frontage, helped with new landscaping and contributed funds towards an improved sensory room for pupils.
