Devon care home provider, Doveleigh Care, has maintained its 100% CQC Outstanding record following an inspection of its Dove Court service in March.

Dove Court, which was also rated Outstanding on its previous inspection, is one of three care homes run by Doveleigh Care with the CQC’s top rating.

Registered manager Samantha Evens told CHP: “I cannot say how proud I am of my team, who have not only retained Outstanding but improved this. Our residents are at the heart of our service and every staff member goes above and beyond.”

The CQC said: “Relatives we spoke with couldn’t praise the kindness of staff highly enough. They consistently told us the care staff provided was outstanding and they felt staff were ‘family’.”

Samantha was praised by the CQC for leading by example and ensuring the service provided high quality, person centred care.

The CQC highlighted how staff provided person-centred support by listening to residents and engaging with them at every opportunity.

The home’s focus on residents’ well-being and their having a sense of purpose was also highlighted with staff ensuring people had access to as many opportunities as possible to aid their physical and mental health well-being.

Commenting on her major role in Doveleigh’s 100% Outstanding care record, which includes five Outstandings at Arcot House in Sidmouth, Samantha said: “I believe my energy inspires new and existing staff members to achieve the highest possible rating. In May 2017 Arcot House was rated Outstanding in all five domains. This was a team effort and true commitment from all.”
