Staff and residents are celebrating at Auden House care home in Greater Manchester after it was rated Outstanding by the CQC.

The home in Audenshaw, which provides care for up to 24 people, joined the top 3.5% of adult social care services following an inspection in June.

The CQC praise the registered manager and provider of the service for their “clear vison”, “very strong values” and passionate commitment to providing “exceptionally good quality individualised care and support”.

They were further commended for their values and vision which were at the centre of all developments at the service.

“Everyone was very positive about the registered manager and their exemplary approach to providing holistic support to people who used the service and staff who worked at the home,” the CQC added.

Auden House Director John Evans told CHP: “We are thrilled to have achieved the Outstanding rating. We believe this is due to several factors that help us create a caring, family atmosphere in our 24 bed home for the elderly. We have a dedicated and highly organised management team, with excellent staff who are committed to providing outstanding care; carers, activities co-ordinators, cooks and domestics who are all passionate about the service they each provide.

“We develop a great relationship with our families who know they are welcome at any time and who become heavily involved in the social interactions (activities, fayres, outings etc.) and some who remain in contact with the home for years after their family member has passed away.

“We are highly responsive to any concerns raised and ensure we provide real person-centred care, responding to individual wants and needs wherever practicable, and ensuring great outcomes for our residents. We build great working relationships with the wider community, including health professionals and the local authority commissioning group. And finally, as providers we are engaged fully in the business, providing day to day support and guidance to ensure all our residents fulfil their golden years.”
