Hadrian Healthcare announces £15m care home plans

Leading elderly care company Hadrian Healthcare has announced plans for a £15m development in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

The move, which will create 100 permanent jobs, follows Hadrian Healthcare’s recent sale of five of its Manor House homes in Yorkshire and County Durham to Anchor Hanover Group, which left it with it two remaining Manor House homes in Gosforth and Whickham in the north east.

The proposed new ‘five star’ accommodation will have 85 bedrooms/suites, including the company’s specialist ‘Chesters’ accommodation, which has been specially designed by the experts at Hadrian Healthcare to provide a luxurious, safe and stimulating environment for people living with dementia. There will be an additional eight supported living apartments.

Owner and chairman, Ian Watson, said: “We look for sites that reflect what we offer by their location, so it’s no coincidence that this is a premier position in Skipton which will have beautifully landscaped private gardens, yet still be close to amenities and shops.

“It almost seems to be underselling what’s on offer to mention ‘bedrooms’ when what we are actually providing is an exclusive quality of life for discerning elderly people who can no longer live by themselves, but want to maintain their lifestyle, individuality and dignity.”
