David Smith has been appointed to the Executive Board of residential, nursing and domiciliary care services provider, Healthcare Homes Group.

David (pictured), who joined the company in May 2018 as Head of Estates and Property Services, is responsible for managing the Group’s portfolio of 37 residential and nursing care homes. This includes coordinating a large team of external contractors and implementing standardised procedures to ensure the smooth running of all homes.

Gordon Cochrane, CEO of the Healthcare Homes Group, said: “I am delighted that David Smith has agreed to join the Executive Board of the Healthcare Homes Group. Having joined the business 11 months ago, he has already made an invaluable contribution to our business; his experience of managing large property portfolios and his knowledge and advice is of great benefit to the Group.”

Prior to joining the Healthcare Homes Group, David worked for Cygnet Healthcare for three years, where he was responsible for the facilities management of over 30 mental health hospitals. He also worked with the NHS, including at its Imperial College and UCL Universities, where he ran the estates services for many London hospitals.

David added: “I am delighted to become a director of the Healthcare Homes Group.  With 37 homes in total, managing the facilities, structural integrity and fabric of each and every property is of paramount importance. I’ve already established a good contractor base and have put further measures in place to better manage, maintain and refresh our buildings as needed; enabling our residents to enjoy living in each of our homes’ comfortable surroundings.”
