Healthcare Homes Group has launched a £1.5m extensive and refurbishment programme at Haughgate House in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

The work includes the creation of eight new bedrooms, kitchen, laundry and staff room facilities, and the refurbishment of four existing bedrooms.

David Smith, Head of Estates & Property Services of Healthcare Homes Group and project manager, said: “The group is investing £1.5m in extending and refurbishing Haughgate House. It sees the creation of a host of new bedrooms, a new kitchen and more, and has been designed to complement the 1920s home, yet offer modern facilities to everyone who lives – and works – at Haughgate House.”

The project, which is being carried out by Horizon Construction, is expected to complete this summer.

David added: “We have worked with Horizon Construction on a number of projects of this scale before and they take great care in delivering on time and are respectful in the way they work; particularly ensuring minimal disruption to our existing residents.”

Phil Holding, Managing Director of Horizon Construction, said: “We have established a long working relationship with Healthcare Homes over the last 10 years or more, and following relatively recent changes of senior management and leadership of the company, we are particularly pleased to be invited to work on this project. We hope this will be the beginning of further opportunities for Horizon Construction to work with Healthcare Homes in the future.”
