An e-learning system designed to help plug gaps in carer skills and knowledge launched yesterday at Health Plus Care at ExCeL London.

Endorsed by Skills for Care, My Learning Cloud’s MOT learning system is a skills assessment tool that can be used during staff recruitment, induction and renewal.

My Learning Cloud CEO and founder Steven Embleton told CHP: “Our MOT system tests staff knowledge against current best thinking. Care providers needs to see where people are at any one time so that they can plug gaps in their team’s skills and knowledge.”

The system asks 20 questions linked to the 52 topic learning topics provided by My Learning Cloud.

The responses are then assessed to determine what further learning solutions are required, ranging from workshops and e-learning courses to one-to-one time with managers.

“The MOT provides an ideal solution for care home providers working within tight margins who are needing to focus their finite resources effectively,” Steven added.

My Learning Cloud has already begun trialling the systems with its customers.

“They have loved it,” Steven said. “They have been really engaged by the process and we have had really positive feedback today.”
