Leicestershire luxury care home to create 50 jobs for local people

Ideal Carehomes’ Woodthorpe Lodge in Loughborough is recruiting for up to 50 roles ahead of its launch in September.

The £10m home, which will provide residential and dementia care for up to 66 people, included a cinema room, garden room, on-site convenience store, cafe and landscaped gardens.

Registered care manager, Tracy Taylor, said: “We are very excited to be commissioning the staff team for the home and are keen to hear from people living in the local community who are looking for fulfilling careers within care. From experienced caring professionals, to those who may be only thinking about entering this sector, there are a whole host of exciting permanent roles available.

“It’s really important to us that we promote a career in care as a positive choice – there is plenty of scope for progression for the right people and we provide all the training and support required. Each day is different, not to mention rewarding and enjoyable. The home itself will look like a five-star hotel and will provide a beautiful place to work in every day.”

The news follows the launch of Ideal Carehomes’ Handley House facility in York in May (see Ideal Carehomes officially opens £10m York care home).

Handley House was recently visited by Care Minister Caroline Dinenage who praised its training programme.

Ms Dinenage expressed particular interest in Handley’s #thisisme project which increases engagement by pairing residents and staff with shared preferences and interests.
