LifeCare Residences appoints Gary Heather as chief operating officer

Gary Heather has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) at luxury retirement community operator LifeCare Residences (LCR).

The newly installed COO, who comes with over 35 years’ experience, will be responsible for the successful operation of LCR’s UK retirement villages and nursing homes.

Gary said: “I am delighted to be joining LCR to assist the business in reaching its strategic goals and to further enhance our reputation as an employer of choice.  I am looking forward to forming close partnerships internally to enhance our service levels and develop our most important asset – our people.”

The COO brings a wealth of experience in people management, with particular strength in talent acquisition, people development and human resources, whilst also developing specialist skills in recruitment advertising and sales & marketing.

Prior to joining LCR, Gary was a founder member of specialist retail and hospitality recruitment consultancy, Retail Human Resources plc, which became a market leader, winning several quality accreditations such as Investors in People and ISO 9001:2000.

In the last two years, Gary has focussed on process improvement and business transformation across a wide range of sectors, including social housing and resourcing.
