Shift8*, the UK supplier of the Tovertafel interactive ‘magic table’, has been awarded a place on the UnLtd Thrive programme for social entrepreneurs.

The social enterprise has been given a place on the Solutions for an Ageing Societ2019 business accelerator programme in recognition of its outstanding work in changing the lives of people with cognitive challenges.

John Ramsay, CEO of Shift8*, said: “This is an exciting time for us all at Shift8*. Winning a place on Thrive’s programme is an amazing opportunity for the company and we are all ecstatic to have six months of dedicated support, from an experienced venture manager.”

“The team and I all share a common purpose; to create as many moments of happiness for the people we help. With Thrive’s support, we will be able to further increase our reach across the UK, aiding the UKs ageing demographic and develop the business itself, allowing us to access further business verticals.”

The programme will allow Shift8* to continue with its commitment to reducing levels of social isolation by introducing a range of innovative technology.

The scheme’s personal venture manager will combine intensive business support, financial planning and advice, as well as personal one-to-one development for Shift8*’s for John. There is also an opportunity to secure up to £50,000 investment to assist Shift8*’s growth.
