New Care has officially opened its Formby Manor care home in Formby, Merseyside.

Residents Eileen Bynoe and Jean Timmins joined the Worshipful Mayor of Sefton, Councillor June Burns and New Care CEO Chris McGoff for the officially launch of the 76-bed, purpose-built home.

Councillor Burns said: “Formby Manor is a stunning care facility.  It is evident that so much investment has gone into the development and the care home is superb, offering exceptional care services.  It was a pleasure to meet the team and take the first tour around to see the high quality of care, exceptional interior and fabulous quality of life that residents will have at Formby Manor.  I am very impressed.”

Facilities at Formby Manor, which will offer residential, nursing and dementia care services, include private bedrooms with en suite wet rooms and a range of hotel-style services and communal areas, including lounges, dining rooms and club rooms, a fine dining daily menu, hair salon, nail bar and concierge.  Residents also benefit from secure landscaped gardens and a busy and varied programme of events.

CEO at New Care, Chris McGoff, said: “We are thrilled that the Lord Mayor was able to take time out of her busy schedule to officially open Formby Manor for us.  We are incredibly proud of the care facility and were delighted to give her a preview tour.  The cutting of the red ribbon with some of our residents was a truly memorable way to mark the occasion.”

Investment director Tony Throp, of Puma Property Finance, who financed the home, added: “We have a long record of working with experienced care home operators and are pleased to have continued our support of New Care by financing this latest development which will deliver high-quality care for residents of the Formby area.”
