The CQC commented on the home’s effective systems in place to assess and manage any potential risks.

Staff fully understood the significant of health and safety management and medicines were stored, administered and recorded safely and people received their medicines as prescribed.

Staff were recruited appropriately and there were sufficient numbers to ensure people were kept safe, the CQC said.

The CQC also praised the way people’s nutritional and hydration needs were met and how staff were encouraged to undertake comprehensive and advanced training.

Managing Director Tom Lyons said: “I am so proud of the work that our staff do every day. Our residents are the heart of our business and every decision we make we consider the impact on them. We wouldn’t have achieved what we have without the dedication of so many wonderful caring staff. I would personally like to thank each and every one of them.”

Black Swan own and operate 19 care homes in the East of England, all of which are rated as either ‘good’ or outstanding.
