Primary school and care home team up in bid for Christmas No: 1

Children from FlakeFleet Primary School in Fleetwood, Lancashire are targeting the Christmas No: 1 spot after filming a song at a local care home.

More than 13,000 people have already pre-ordered ‘Light Up’, which was filmed at Fleetwood Hall Care Home, part of the Orchard Care Homes group.

All proceeds from the song go towards the Alzheimer’s Society.

The music video is the latest partnership between the school and the care home, which have built up close links by holding regular events and meet ups between residents and children.

The video and song have attracted a huge amount of media interest from the likes of ITV News at Ten, BBC Radio 5, ITV Granada Reports, BBC North West, CBBC Newsround, Radio Lancashire, Wave FM, the Sun, the Daily Mail, Blackpool Gazette and Good Morning Britain.

A stellar celebrity line-up, including Fearne Cotton, Jeremy Corbyn, Matt Dawson, KT Tunstall, Vicky McClure, Alfie Boe, Bobby Ball, Coleen Nolan, Coronation Street, Sir Alan Sugar and Chris Evans have backed the festive partnership on line.

The song also has received the full backing of the Fleetwood and Fylde Coast communities.
