Ashdale Lodge Care Home, which was rated good by the CQC in its last inspection in November 2017, is to close next year.

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly and our priority remains the welfare of residents and our staff.

“We will be working with the local authority to support residents and their families to find new homes that meet their specific needs and we will be offering our staff as much assistance as we can.”

The purpose-built care home provides residential care for up to 37 people, including those living with dementia.

Sanctuary Care and Hull City Council are to begin finding new homes for the residents in the New Year.

The home was rated good in all areas, apart from effectiveness, which was given ‘requires improvement’, in its last inspection.

Hull City Council has been approached for comment.
