A Staffordshire care home has taken up an innovative new online recruitment platform designed to help solve staffing problems.

Watford House in Lichfield has introduced the ‘Urtle’ system which allows nurses and health care assistants to choose their shifts on a ‘Tinder’ style platform.

Owner Fred Street said: “When I was contacted by Urtle I was intrigued to find out what they were about. As I did some research and undertook a conversation it became clearer to me why Urtle is the way forward.

“Urtle being the platform they are will no doubt save Watford House a huge amount of money on external recruitment spend. What I like most is that as a provider I am in control and the platform provides me with the opportunity to take staff on a permanent basis without any fees. I highly recommend Urtle.”

Urtle has seen strong growth for its platform since its launch in October 2018 (see Care worker launches recruitment platform), with its clients including three times ‘outstanding’ rated Luxurycare and Richmondwood care home in Bournemouth.

Care workers can sign up to Urtle for free today and receive a £50 bonus when they complete their first 12-hour shift on www.urtle.co.uk
