Care workers from across the country will be celebrated for their hard work and dedication to supporting vulnerable people at a special event in London this year.

Hosted by the National Association for Care & Support Workers (NACAS), the second annual Professional Care Workers’ Day will recognise care workers as skilled professionals and applaud them for their daily commitment to caring in the community.

This year’s theme is focused on well-being and there will be free consultations with physiotherapists, psychologists, nutritionists, beauty and massage therapists, as well as money and career advice and more ways to help care workers take care of themselves.

NACAS will also invite care providers to host their own celebrations on the day and promote the event on social media, using the hashtag #ProfessionalCareWorkersDay

Karolina Gerlich, NACAS CEO and Founding Director, said: “We aspire to making care workers feel special for the awe-inspiring work that they do. Delivering care is a skilled and unique profession that deserves recognition, respect, and celebration.

“The skills and expertise care workers deliver every day make a significant difference to the lives of people they work with and support. This is not always fully appreciated or understood until people experience this care first hand.”

The Professional Care Workers Day will be held in London on September 4. The venue is yet to be announced.

NACAS, a not for profit company, was founded in 2016 to campaign for greater recognition and respect for care workers, alongside improved standards of care delivery, training, fair contractual terms and official registration of care workers in England.
