Nottingham based Wynbrook has handed over a multi-million care home to operator Rotherwood Care in Shropshire.

The new Roden Hall, which has been built within the grounds of an existing care home that was no longer fit for purpose, is financed by Target Fund Managers.

Steve Day, Construction Director of Wynbrook, said: “This was an excellent development to work on. We were conscious of having to work in a live environment alongside the existing care home and we worked closely with the operators and staff to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.”

The 66-bed home, which officially opened on 28 June, provides a cinema/events room with an outside glazed veranda, hairdressing salon, dining areas and bar, activity room, reception area and extensive landscaped gardens, as well as views of the surrounding countryside.

Residents from the existing care home were moved to the new facility following its completion.

John Fennell of Rotherwood Care said he was extremely proud of the new facility and hoped to develop the site for additional accommodation options.
