Positive Behaviour Advisor – Colchester Full Time Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced PBS Specialist to join our well established team based in Colchester.

We are a dedicated specialist care provider offering supported living for adults with Intellectual or developmental disabilities, epilepsy, autism and other additional needs.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about understanding individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviors, who will engage with the services to deliver person centered support drawn from assessments and analysis, creating proactive plans to enhance the quality of life for our service users.

The Role:

Working as part of the Leadership Team you will provide guidance, advice, support, plans and Coaching to the service teams across a multi-site supporting individuals with challenging behavior which is affecting the quality of their lives and the delivery of support we can provide.

You will be responsible for the implementation of strategies that will improve the quality of life for 21 individuals as well as their well-being and those of our support teams, to reduce challenging behaviour and any restrictive interventions.

Areas of the role will include:

Staff Coaching & development in PBS
Functional Behaviour Assessments
Behaviour Support Planning (BSP)
Incident analysis & debrief

The Person:

• Proven ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, contributing to a positive environment with a can-do attitude even during challenging periods.
• Will Understand legal frameworks such as Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS
• Demonstrate the ability to write reports and assessments to a high standard
• You should be able to demonstrate experience in directly supporting people with Autism and Challenging behaviour as well as supporting staff teams.
• You should also be able to demonstrate experience in the delivery of support plans
• Be compassionate with a caring nature
• Be a team player
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of CQC standards
