A former nursing home in North Wales that previously suffered severe fire damage has been put up for sale.

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co is marketing The Old Vicarage in the North Wales town of Pandy Tudur, near Llanrwst in Conwy.

The property, which provided residential and nursing care for 27 residents, is in need of refurbishment after its roof was damaged by a fire in 2018.

The current owners who are seeking to retire, said: “It is with sadness that we have to sell the nursing home that has been a home from home for so many local people over the years. The home was a highly regarded and well-loved asset for the local community and has the potential to be a very profitable business for the right investor.

“The demand for nursing homes in this part of North Wales is high and the workforce, who had to find alternative employment after the fire, are eager to return to the home should it become operational again. We would be very willing to support and share information with any interested parties who wish to redevelop the property as a care home.”

James Knight, Business Agent at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said: “The Old Vicarage offers numerous possibilities for potential purchasers. Prior to closing, the home enjoyed an enviable reputation within the local community as well as consistently full occupancy. For those wishing to reinvest, there remains the basis of a strong care business. Alternatively, the large plot size and serene location also make the site attractive for redevelopment – with residential use, a hotel, holiday lets, or a retreat of some sort all being viable options. As such, we expect this opportunity to attract interest from numerous parties.”
