McGoff Construction begins work on sixth Barchester care home

McGoff Construction has begun work on its sixth Barchester care home following the granting of planning approval.

The 66-bed facility in Herne Bay, Kent is due for completion in early 2020.

Mark Bennett, Director of Property Services at Barchester Healthcare said: “We are pleased to announce that work has begun on a new 66-bed Barchester care home in Herne Bay, Kent. The new home will reflect our Barchester Healthcare design model, featuring bespoke, person-centred care design input, and will be constructed by McGoff Construction.

“The new luxury home will provide 66 single en-suite bedrooms with shared lounges and separate dining areas, an activity space for the homes’ lifestyle enrichment programmes, as well as secure, landscaped gardens, providing, peaceful, beautiful outdoor spaces for our prospective residents. Work has commenced on site this month and is due for completion in March 2020, opening shortly after. We feel there is a real need for quality care in the local area, and our new home will definitely meet this, and potentially give a boost to employment in neighbouring communities.”

Chairman at New Care, part of the McGoff Group, Dominic Kay, added: “McGoff Construction has a long history of expertise in the design and construction of exceptional new build care centres.
