RMBI Care Co unveils plans for Wokingham care home

RMBI Care Co has announced plans for a new building on the site of is Lord Harris Court care home in Wokingham.

Planning permission has been granted for a purpose-built care home and a retirement community with 60 apartments, which will replace the current 1970s building.

RMBI Care Co Managing Director, Mark LLoyd, said: “We are delighted that our exciting plans for our first new purpose-built care home in a decade have been approved. We are committed to investing in our existing care homes as well as creating new build developments which reflect the current and future care needs of older people including specialist end of life care provision.”

Construction of the home, which will be carried out by Castleoak, will begin in January 2020.

The home, which will provide nursing and dementia care along with the latest assistive technologies, will provide beds for 45 residents from the spring of 2021.

In addition, the retirement community will offer a range of one and two bed apartments with leisure and restaurant facilities on site.

The project is being carried out in partnership with architects Carless & Adams and project managers Faithfull & Gould.
